The James Went building ,

James would have turned in his grave if he'd visited this building while it was up, one side of the building a half-a-floor height difference from the other and lift's unique to each side that didn't always work meant that students were forever moving up or down stairs. Add to that a paternoster that only worked to cause injuries to students before being shutdown permanently, a grey concrete exterior and windows that seem to have been an afterthought and you've got a building that should never have made it off the napkin it was doodled on.

The correct title of this maze is actually the "Leicester Maze" - which is inscribed on the two stone slabs set into the ground on the northern side of the Maze.

Elfed Thomas Building,

Elfed Thomas was not Director of Education in 1931 when the building was opened; he was not appointed until 1946. The reason the building was named after him was that, when the then Leicester Polytechnic took over the building in the 1970s, he had been the last Director of Education for the City of Leicester, retiring in 1971.

Very bad customer service. We came to look for a bridal lehenga yet the lady was not interested at all in showing the lehengas which she had packed into bags. She informed us her shop was going to open up in two weeks time across the road where she would have these lehengas in stock. She hesitantly opened a bag and showed us one outfit. It seemed as if that was how far she would go with helping us. I'm sorry but I don't think I will be coming to this shop ever again. I will have to visit the bridal couture stores in London instead. Extremely disappointed.
